Tits, Bush & Ass

From the Lost Drawings Series by Peter Bogdanov
Graphite on student-grade figure paper (early art school period)

Unapologetic. Unvarnished. Unedited.

“Tits, Bush & Ass” is exactly what it says it is—a figure drawing that refuses to flinch, euphemize, or politely look away. Created during Peter Bogdanov’s early years in art school, this piece isn’t about shock value—it’s about truth. About bodies as they are: lived-in, present, and seen with an artist’s full attention.

The figure stands with her back turned, hips slightly offset, body rendered in fluid graphite lines that drift between loose suggestion and confident precision. There’s nothing stylized or glamorized here—just form, shadow, posture, and presence. Breasts hang with weight. Hips anchor the stance. Hair, pubic and otherwise, is simply part of the landscape, not a subject of commentary.

This is what figure drawing class teaches at its best: to see without judgment. To observe without censorship. To draw without hiding. And Bogdanov, even then, leaned in with the kind of directness that would define his later work.

The drawing, like many in the Lost Drawings Series, was lost in the 2024 hurricanes that destroyed Bogdanov’s Florida archive. But a scan survived—raw, grainy, and perfect in its imperfection.

To collect “Tits, Bush & Ass” is to honor the artist’s early commitment to the real—to form over façade, observation over decoration. It’s not a statement. It’s a study. But it says something loud and clear: this is the human body. Look at it. All of it.
